My Background:
I was born and raised mostly in Alexandria, VA, but also Omaha, NE. I attended St. Louis Catholic School, Holy Cross School, and Bishop Ireton High School. While attending College of St. Benedict & St. John's University for Nursing and then Psychology, I resided in St. Joseph and St. Cloud, MN.
I returned to the Washington, D.C. area upon graduation. After exploring several career options, I discovered the field of elementary education. I substituted at my alma maters, and then found a long term substitute position as the 3rd grade teacher at St. Ann's Catholic School. That led to a permanent job there as the 4th grade teacher for the following two school years. In August 2013, I completed my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction: PK - 6th Elementary Education at George Mason University. I was a long term substitute in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). I am teaching 2nd grade in FCPS for the 2013-2014 school year. My Educational Philosophy:
